Delete and Reinstall window again....boom....better and faster processing of files with Virtual dub and Tmpgenc.
Cleaned out them old codec and stuff.....only using Nimo build 7 with Divx 5.02

Makes sense. However I would recommend partitioning your drive and make your system dual boot and have clean Windows installation (no virus checker) just for video editing on one of the partitions, and use Norton Ghost to make an image of the clean Windows install. Then you can test and experiment with new codecs and stuff but you can easily restore your clean windows installation (with apps) in minutes rather than the few hours it can take to re-install Windows and apps.
This is what I do and it allows me to try all sorts of downloaded software with the comfort factor of knowing you can restore so easily. I always download software using my other Windows partition so that I can virus scan first !! -
Don't install Nimo's codec pack..that helps alot to...and Install only the codecs u need...
And yes...we all wear wooden shoes here in Holland... -
These are all good ideas. Same with software - use a test box to try new software instead of installing & uninstalling. Or, backup before trying something & then restore the backup if the prog isn't a keeper.

can i uninstall xp service pack 1 without hurting my system? I noticed my 2.53GHz processor isn't the same as it use to be.
This is so much fun! -
Here are the secrets:
Adding more stuff to windows can tie it up like a knot.
With fresh installation I am getting 100%-500% improvement in programs like Nero.
Dump Nimo Codex....Use Divx 5.03 and XVID codec only....
The more you mess with windows....the more it gets messed.
