  1. Hi, I recently aquired dvd instant copy version 7.0.0.91 and i've been having problems using the full 4.7 gigs of a dvd+rw when copying a movie that is dual layered. I used the registry hack and was able to customize the transcoding size of extras and such. THe first time i copied it i changed nothing and the final image was only 4.03 gigs. The second time i did it i downsized all the extras as low as possible and increased the main title to 60 something % and I also forced the total data size to extend past the 4.32 gig disc limit (why is the limit at 4.32 gigs btw?) hoping that the final image would be more than 4.03 gigs but to my surprise, the image ended up being 4.03 gigs anyway. This is frustrating because i'm losing out on some precious quality. Can anyone help me out?

    Thanks in advance

the 4.3Gb limit is because dvd-r discs are listed in 1000 bits =1Kbit units, where as computers use 1024 bits = 1Kb

when you multiply up in units of 1024, it comes out that 4.3 computer Gb = 4.7 absolute Gb

as far as your instantcopy problem, no idea.

  4. oversize it to 4.6 (hit F5) that may be the sweet spot to get the desired 4.36GB.

  5. MrBass - that' my experience as well - 4.6 to 4.7 seems to get the job done.
Personally, I leave an extra soundtrack of subtitle in, so that if I'm a little bit over, I can just remove it rather than trying to resample something....
