  1. Hi everyone,

I would like to capture some Art demos and intros for making background menu movies for my DVD creations...
The most comfortable way would be to set one firewire port to sending out the current vga signal and the other (got one on motherboard, one on audigy) set to 'capture' in scenalyzer for example.
Is that possible in any way? Is there any tool out there that makes this possible?
I would have another machine as well, so I could 'capture' there if out+in on same machine doesnt work.
Additionally I got a DVPro machine that could convert my S-video out signal into DV-Firewire which I could capture the same time I 'send' out the vga signal on the same machine .. (if the demos/intros dont use too much system resources.. else I would use the other machine).
And the last option is to capture the s-video In signal on the other machine I give out on the demo/intro machine...
But the best way would be the first option where I dont know if that works at all. Would give the best quality of course.
If you know any possibility to do that, I would like to get some help
[idea again: VGA signal > Firewire out > Other Firewire in (capture)]
    thanx

  2. If the source is a DVD just use screen capture in the software DVD player.

Your post is a bit confusing as it is not clear what you are capturing from.

VGA signals don't travel over DV but video does.

SOme people have used a video card with SVideo/RCA/Scart (Europe) out to a capture card for complex stuff. There is also screen capture programs that do a good job on fast computers. That might be your best bet.

  3. hi
    thanx for reply.
sorry about my english, i'm swiss

well, in easy words: I want my firewire port working like my S-Video Out port on my VGA Card ...
To activate it (give vga signal out to s-video) you just enable it in the graphic properties.
So the question is, if there is any possibility to send out the 'what-you-see' vga signal out through firewire (as digital video).
All i want is to capture what I see, at 25fps.
That Camtasia Snapshot stuff is useless.
