AVI to Mpeg doesnt seem to convert it in the right format

I am using TMpeg to convert avi to Mpeg to then write it onto DVD. The problem I am having is that when converting the avi, it converts it into mv2 and mp2 files. Which wont work basically!! How do you convert avi to mpeg and get the right files ie vob ifo and dup.

ThpGenc is an mpeg encoder. It does NOT produce files ready for burning to DVD. It DOES (or rtaher can) produce mpeg files that are compliant with DVD specs and so will be accepted by DVD authoring programs. You must AUTHOR a DVD with one of these programs in order to get the vob ifo and bup files that you need to burn to DVD.
