Apologies for the very unclear subject, the problem I'm having is hard to put into words. I set everything correctly (selecting /dev/rdisk2 as my source), and when I hit encode, mencoder gives me the following error:
libdvdread: Could not open device with libdvdcss.
libdvdread: Can't open /dev/rdisk2 for reading
Couldn't open DVD device: /dev/rdisk2
Cannot open file/device.
Exiting...
This seems to happen once in a while, and I let it go for a few days, go back to it, and it seemingly fixes itself (which is very strange). Any idea what causes this?
One thought. Every format I encode to gives me the same error (encoding with ffmpeg never worked for me, and mpeg2enc gives a similar error). Perhaps I need to unmount the disc first? If so, what are the command line commands to do this? Any help is appreciated.
