  1. When i run tmpgenc and try to convert any of my divx files to vcd, tryin to fit them on one cd using the guide on this site the file size is estimated to be 800megs using the wizard but comes out to around 1.5 gigs when the total conversion is done. What am i doing wrong?

Fully standards compliant VCD has a fixed bitrate of 1150kbps. This means you can get 74mins of movie on a standard 74min CD and 80 mins of movie on an 80min CD. If your movie is longer than this you have two choices.

    1) Encode at a lower bitrate. This will make the VCD non compliant and lower the quality. It should still play in most VCD capabale players though.

    2) Split the movie across 2 (or more) disks. Use TmpGenc mpeg tools merge and split option to cut the large mpeg produced by TmpGenc in to 2 or more pieces.
