  1. I am trying to make chapter points. I first played the m2v through windvd to get the times writen down for the chapter points i want to make. But when I try to use those time references in Maestro, it's not even close. It's like anywhere from 2 to 5 minutes off. It's like the timeline in Maestro is all screwed up. I am authoring a music concert so it all looks the same so how in the heck am I suppose to find these " time references" to make the chapters if Maestro is messing with the times???

more in likly its windvd that is off .. i have never seen maestro be "off" - though at time you have to switch from asset based time code to 0-based time code ..

but why play it first in windvd ? just play it and use the slider in maestro to find your chapter points ... a lot more exact ..

  3. I agree Bj. but I have no preview function in Maestro so I can't watch it. I guess I better find that special file to allow preview functionality. Otherwise I am sorta screwed.

  5. I am making my own off of a captured vhs tape. BJ was correct, windvd had the time screwed up. I got that cinemaster file out of my dvdit folder and now I got preview but no sound. Is there supposed to be sound in preview mode in Maestro?

  7. If you haven't noticed up above the "chapter editing" row next to the "DVDMaestro" logo is a window to the left that when you click on a paticular spot of the movie will give you a thumbnail of where you are at in the movie.

You can set a chapter point and with your mouse move the chapter diamond and watch the little window for exact placement of where you want your chapter to be. The picture changes as you move the chapter diamond.

Depending also on how your video is encoded will determine how to set where the chapter occurs ie; previous GOP, next GOP, nearest GOP. In your case it doesn't matter much.
