Burning Mpg2 to Disc with ULEAD

People, This is a mighy fine site and has saved my butt on numerous occasions, but I have a problem which I just cannot solve or seen a solution here.

I have downloaded a DIVx film, framed served to TMPEnc using Virtadub and the result was an MPG2 DVD compliant file which plays perfectly using PowerDVD.

When I run the MPG2 through Movie factory 1 (and I've tried MF2 demo) and also ULEAD DVDWS to create a DVD-R disc. The result is a film in which the playback the film freezes then speeds up for a fraction of a secong then plays normal for a few minutes and repeats.

I am truly baffled. Is this A Ulead problem or have I done something/not done something before using Ulead.

Any help would be appriaciated

Yes I please help, I had a same problem with Ulead (Both Ulead Movie Factory and Ulead VisualStudio 6SE DVD). They even recognised my mpeg 2 files decoded by TMPGEnc , Error Pop-box said "wrong mpeg format" when I tried to import file into Storyboard.

Hi

when u encoded the movie with tmpg did you check if it was pal or ntsc.

If u encoded an ntsc movie (23fps) at a pal setting (25fps). that would cause your problem.

If not you may be experiencing the same problem that I am having.

jwsons, try checking tyhe GOP in TMPEnc, I hadmine set to 18 when encoding for PAL, should be 15 or lower.

BHOY, Nope I don't thinks its an NTSC to PAL problem. I used to convert NTSC to PAL and had major problems.

Now I frameserve from VirtaDUB, afetr extracting the audio and use the TMPEnc NTSC DVD template, making sure the output is 720x480 with the correct GOP and audio rate.

My problem is the results from TMPEnc are great withing PowerDVD, they even play great in the preview window of ULEAD MF2. When I auther, I save the ISO image and the TS_VISEO folders (ULEAD seems to create them anyway) and I check the final output from MF2 using powerDVD. Its at this stage the stop-start play for a bit happens. I'm at a loss. I really do think its ULEAD as this occurs in MF1, 2 and DVD workshop.

What I can't figiure out what could I have been doing right, weeks ago, and now its barfed up?

Any help?
