  1. I have just gotten a DVR-105 pioneer DVD-Burner,and i am getting more and more confused as to when i should encode an AVI to either VCD/SVCD or DVD. I usually have aviīs that are encoded in either Divx or Xvid with a bitrate of somewhere between 900 and 1100. Which settings should i use in TMPGenc to get the best result on these files? Is it overkill to try and convert an avi with a bitrate of about 971 to 6000 DVD mpg2?,should i settle for 2 pass vbr with a bitrate of SVCD 2520?? I am generally very happy with the quality of SVCD when i D/L bin/cue mpg2(SVCD) and if i could convert the aviīs to at least SVCD will that be good enough quality? Should i use TMPGenc templates for encoding,or should i make my own? On this matter, will i be able to burn the SVCD mpg2 on to a DVD-R? Or should i author the SVCD mpg2 as a DVD before i can watch it in my standalone?

This is alot of questions, but hopefully some kind soul will help me,as i am getting very confused with all this talk of CQ,2 pass VBR,CBR and stuff like that.
