  1. I have a movie with AC3 audio. Following a guide I use virtual dub to direct stream the audio as a wav file, however when i try to rename it as .ac3 it has no affect, it does change the name but not the format so headac3he and ac3tool dont recognise it. What do i do?

you need to 'fix' the file with ac3fix.exe. This is a command line tool. It should be in the tools section.

    Hope this helps.

  4. simplest way. Download ac3fix.exe and put it in the same directory as your ac3 file. Open a command window and cahnge directory to where the ac3 file and ac3fix.exe are stored. type the following command:

    ac3fix.exe myinputfile.ac3 myoutputfile.ac3.

ac3fix will run and fix any errors in your input, producing a new file called myoutputfile.ac3. Headac3he should now recognise it as ac3, assuming you are right and it is ac3 audio in the first place.
