  1. After creating one, I can't play the damn CD on my PC although it works fine on my players. Worst part is that I can't rip out the .dat --> .mpg with VCDGear because for some reason the .dat files aren't recognised as VCD files, so the software claims. Anyone here can help me with ripping it out?

  2. Nero...

Did you create your VCD with a menu? Nero 5.5 still menus are not authored correctly and do not work on some stand-alone players and most software players.

I'm not sure why VCDGear isn't working for you, but you can try this:

Use CDR-Win to extract an image of your VCD onto the HDD. Then try VCDGear on the CUE/BIN image. This should always work.

Once you have your CUE/BIN image, you can also use VCDXRIP (a tool in VCDImager) to extract all the media files and PBC off the VCD along with an XML descriptor.

    Regards.
