    I downloaded a DVD Rip, avi file and the sound plays on my computer. However, once I encode it using TMPGne the sound dissapears. It produces an excellent quality VCD with no sound at all. What can I do to fix this? Please help as I have several like this

  2. Maybe you could try multiplexing...
    First, you could extract the audio from your AVI, with NANDUB...
    In NANDUB
    FILE => OPEN => select the file => OPEN
    AUDIO => COMPRESSION => NONE
    SAVE MP3

    now, in tmpg...
    FILE => MPEG TOOLS
    SIMPLE MULTIPLEX
    VIDEO: you select/open the MPEG without the sound
    AUDIO: you select the MP3 you just made with nandub
    hit the RUN button, and see wut happens

    ***You'll find NANDUB in the tools section of this site***
