Hello,
I used Pinnacle Studio 8.5 to edit DV, add menu, transitions, chapters, etc.
How can I select to use CCE SP or TMPGEnc encoder inside PS8.5 so the output DVD disk contents will have the best quality? Or if I re-encode (since I added transitions) the DV to another DV file by PS8 and encode that seperately with CCE SP or TMPGEnc, can I replace that MPEG with the one created originally by PS8? Does re-encoding DV to DV has any loss in quality?
Thanks for any hints or suggestions for any of these questions.

You cannot use any external Mpeg encoders in Pinnacle. You can render your file to DV in Pinnacle, there is no loss as smart rendering only renders changes (transitions etc). There is no loss as the unchanged DV parts of the file are just transfered.
I have only played with Pinnacle S8, do not know what version, but as with most of thier products, it does not like importing any file that Pinnacle has not created. I tried to import a Vegas 3, TMPG and a CCE mpeg 2 file into S8 to use the DVD authoring part and it would not see the file. Maybe someone who actually uses this software can help, but my experiences are all negative. -
