    Is the DVD audio track a multi-track stream?

    I have a friend who wants to separate the music from the dialog and just save the music. Is this possible? He claims that some of the songs in the movie are different from the Soundtrack CD he bought but that there is talking over portions of the DVD song if he simply rips with a program like smartripper.
