  1. I tried to encode a svcd but it says trial of mpeg 2 is over. I can't find on the site where to pay for it if I need to.

  2. The "j" version is only one you have to actually register to use the MPEG-2 codec after 30 days. I don't think you can pay for it yet but you can find an older TMPGEnc version that can do MPEG-2 with no registeration required.

  3. The 30 day limit can be reset by deleting the following registry key:
    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{63902277-B101-4049-8B46-C24B67E155E5}

    Or, make a file "TMPGEnc_MPEG2_Reset.reg" with the following content:

    REGEDIT4
    ; Enables TMPGEnc's MPEG-2 encoder for 30 more days.
    [-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{63902277-B101-4049-8B46-C24B67E155E5}]
