  1. I know how to make in SVCD from a DVD movie, but I downloaded a movie and I think it's an MPEG2 file. I can open it with DIVX. What I want to know is how do I go about burning this as an svcd?

  2. this is a very confusing post... First, you talk about a DVD movie, then you're talking about an MPEG2 movie and then you're talking about a DivX movie.

Look, i think, if you can open it with a the DIVX player, you have got a DIVX movie... not a DVD movie, not an MPEG2 file. They're all different ways of coding the movie. If you DLL'ed it, it probably was an AVI file (uses mostly DIVX-codec).

Ok, so you want to make a SVCD (that is made from mpeg2 file). Now, to be able to do that, you need to convert the AVI/DIVX to an MPEG2 file.
    I always use thise method

(it is normal if that takes 10-12 hours)

Now, you need a program that can burn CD's... Use adaptec or nero. NEW COMPIL -> SUPER VIDEO CD ->select and drag the file ->Burn

  3. Ok, I can't open the video file with virtual dub because I get an error. The error says, Couldn't locate decompressor for format MP43 ( Microsoft High Speed MPEG -4 V3) virtual Dub needs a video for windows (VFW) compatible codec to decompress video. DirectShow codecs, such as those used by windows media player , are not suitable.
