Please forgive me if this is in the wrong forum, but I'm not sure where it belongs. I won't have my DVD burner for another couple of weeks.
I was wondering how you author a DVD so that the running time appears on the display of your stand alone DVD player. I have asked this on several websites, but no one had an answer. Is that something that you do during converting or authoring. I've noticed that some store bought DVD's don't display running times for extras and that is something that bugs me. Another reason I ask is that I made a test SVCD and my player only displayed VCD with no time on the display. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

For svcd and vcd press the button 1 on your remote to play in non-pbc(playback control) mode and then you may get the time instead of just "vcd".

Thanks Baldrick. I'm a very happy camper now. It worked exactly how you and the link described.
