  1. I've been using the Canopus ADVC-100 since Nov, and I've noticed that captured animation "flickers" or "shudders" whenever the camera pans across a scene.

Just recently, I've started using TMPGE Plus to make SVCDs of animation programs. I've discovered that those same "shudders" will turn into a more noticable "pulse" after using the noise reduction and high quality settings.

My question: Is this a tmpge problem or a canopus problem. Please help me!!!

If the DV file looks ok when played, it could be tmpgenc is using the wrong field order setting, try swapping this. I capture using Ulead Video Studio PAL DV template, which has Field A set as 1st field, however when I load the DV file into tmpgenc & let the wizard take a look at it, it sets field B. The encoded output looks fine, so I just leave it set to B.

I make DVD’s from VHS source animations that look better than the original with this method. I also use best quality and 2 pass VBR. Use good cables to the ADVC-100

    Hope this Helps
