  1. Superior video quality is the biggest false myth about InstantCopy.

I just tested this theory on several discs including:
    1) Akira (Japanese animation) 6 GB original on dual-layer
    2) Casablanca (2 hrs black and white) 6 GB original on dual-layer
    3) Titus (3 hrs color) 8 GB original on dual-layer

    I tried DVD2ONE 1.0 vs. InstantCopy7 for each movie.
Kept only the main movie, english audio, and
    english subtitle.

DVD2ONE video quality is definitely better
    for all movies i've tested.

I too used to think that DVD2ONE is crappy when
it comes to video quality (compared to the original).
But now I know that InstantCopy is even crappier.

Don't just believe other people's reviews and
opinions (not even mine). Try both programs
    and see for yourself !!!

There are several problems with the methodology
in tests that some people have posted thus far.
It's not right to randomly pick frames from a
movie processed by DVD2ONE and then compare
it to those from IC. By doing that, you are comparing
subtle flaws that aren't even apparent while
the video is playing. You need to pick particular
scenes where both programs do poorly, namely
low-contrast scenes. Doing so will show you that
DVD2ONE has superior image quality to IC.

I'm not saying that DVD2ONE gives pristine quality,
but it certainly gives better quality than IC in
low-contrast scenes where image flaws are most
obvious. Whenever I see an ugly shimmering artifact
in a DVD2ONE scene, the same scene on IC shimmers
    even more.

I am watching the output on a:
    Samsung 32" HDTV
Panasonic RP-56 progessive DVD player on component output

As my internal reference, I also watched the output on my:
    Samsung 21" 21GLS monitor @1024x768 @100Hz
    Lite-on 16x DVD player
    WinDVD XP 4.0
    ATI Radeon 9700 video card

As I've said, don't just take my word for it, try it yourself!

  2. Yawn another useless comparison thread... what does this make 100+ lol...

Really let people use what they prefer and stop trying to be a know it all.

When I back up kids movies I use DVD2one. Or if I don't care about the extras.
When I back movies that Have alternate ending I use Instant COPY

When I want quality to impress my friends I use the original.

If only you had written a useful comparison thread, I would not have wasted several days on InstantCopy.

    I woulden't stop there.

I blame him for my bad stock investments, my second girlfriend, and two or three jobs I wish I had never accepted.

    Damn you, NYPlayer!!!
    I don't have a bad attitude...
    Life has a bad attitude!

  5. Well I haven't compared the quality of the two programs since I just ordered Instant Copy online today. I have been using DVD2one and DVDX Copy both which IMO work flawlessly. Also I'm more than satisfied with the resulting image quality of DVD2one but hey I'm not an expert at this stuff.

  6. I can't even get the bloody program to work , but it's a good idea that someone takes the time out to compare these programs as a lot of us who are into this like to here these comment, it's all part of the learning process and communicating with each other save's so much time. I sure we've all been there, being up 15hr trying to work things out and is the best way and stuff........Damn is that the time (what day is it ?)

So if you don't care about extras you prefer to use DVD2ONE over InstantCopy?

Why is that? Is output speed the ONLY reason?

wow, sounds like you really want nyplayer to respond! why do you care so much if you think he's a jerk?

  10. Is that directed at me? I never called nobody a jerk you did... I don't know the gezzer, i'm just relaxing in front of my pc with my feet up

  11. Don't spend so much time trying to "backup" your DVDs. For the amount of time, effort and material that you put into copying a DVD, you could have bought 10 copies of it.
It takes me literally seconds to setup an encode which uses CCE. I end up with quality approaching my original DVD which is the whole point, to have a backup in case something happens to my original. However, I always watch my original DVDs. The backup is just that, a BACKUP, which I spend a short amount of time setting up an encode with CCE to make the backup worth having rather than using something like DVD2ONE.

If you have a program that does it in 15 minutes, or is a "set it and forget it", then the savings is (maybe) worth it.
If it took 15 minutes to setup the encode, I wouldn't bother. But it takes like 10 seconds, and CCE is off to the races while I sleep, eat, watch a movie, work, etc.

  12. Im amazed by the compelling evidence in the initial post. The depth the guy went into explaining the algorithms, charts, graphs and screen shots. Based on this thread, dvd2one is inarguably superior.

    lol.

  13. I could have tell you all the same shit, just by looking at the movie with my "CALIBRATED" eye, shit DVD2ONE is better, instant copy freezes , locked does about everything but get the movie right!!
Like I stated in other posts instantcopy is CRAP!!!!!!!!!!

easy there, it was directed at the guy who repeatedly posted to nyplayer without getting a response from him in the first place.

  16. geez....this thread among others here resemble a notorious site that had flaming threads with useless personal attacks up the ying yang. Not it's gone. Thanks for wasting my time reading this useless thread about a bunch of lies.

  17. ok heres a quick one on one for both progs!!

ic is cheap & cheerful along with dvd2one!!!

ic will keep the main movie & extras & if U alter the reg U can reduce other things to keep it the way U would like it!! (cant handle NTSC!!)

dvd2one is good in the fact that it can handle both pal & ntsc very well & with the use of makeiteasy U can keep the menu!! the downside to dvd2one is that the new versions appears odd as it produces a crappier pic that version 1.00 why is that????

We will always have this mine is better than yours stuff but at the end of the day no matter how many reviews we get we will always have the same answer & people will use whats best!! To be honest nothing beats CCE but there again this has bother with ntsc & only the use of pulldown fixes it!!

The best thing is to be happy with what U know & stick with it....

    Kev

  18. Pinnacle suck! Just purely because they are a bunch of twits that run that company i will use anything thats arguably as good quality wise.

How i laughed when i heard the output format of IC is a proprietry Pinnacle format... god forbid they make it easy for the user....
