At the advanced age of 49, I can comment on both LOTR & Star Wars (I reject all the other mentioned out of hand, but hey that's just me).
As is usual in these things, the problem is that they are different animals.
So I like both.
If you push me I'll go LOTR.
But it's good to see Babylon 5 in there too.

What are you, stupid?
It'll be a dual coin-flip decision between Beverly Hills Cop, Smokey and the Bandit, Scary Movie and Gremlins when it all comes down to the wire on judgement day.

Hi,
I say Star Wars (though the whole six saga epic now ).
LOTR would be a close second.

Star Wars is #i for me while my second choice is between Indy or LOTR trilogy. Cant seem to make up my mind so Ill call it a tie to a degree.
LOTR was just mind blowing while Indy was just one of those movies you loved as a kid and cant seem to forget it.Life is like a pothole, you just have to learn to get around it. -
How about the Samurai Trilogy with Toshiro Mifune about Musashi?
Great storytelling.RobertUSM

I don't think Star Wars should count since its not really a trilogy. It was originally conceived of as a 9 part story then cut down to 6. You can't just arbitrarily say "origianl" and "2nd triology." And I can't believe The Godfather got as few votes as it did. Shame on all of you.

I cant beleive rambo got even 6 votes

I thoroughly enjoyed most of the others listed, but never lost myself to the story in all three movies.

I vote for the "Pirates of The Caribbean" Trilogy. Movies two and three are in production now.
