I found a program that can create movies/slideshows. While most programs only create for VCD, this one also lets you select and encode right to DivX.
The program is called Videomach 2.6.3. It works with most image files and MP3/WAV audio. Load all of your pics and the audio track, set the delay for each picture (to fit within the audio lenght) and then set the output. You can select MPG (for VCD) or AVI and then select the codec and its confiuration. It only creates MPEG1 videos but they can be PAL or NTSC, 4:3 16:9 and at High Res sizes.
It also has great tools such as resize, crop, fit within borders (letterboxing)center small images and make the video size fit the 16 div rule. (For Divx) You can use your MP3 songs and have then converted to fit the VCD standard. If you are worried about over-scan, set the resize to 704x480 and it will take care of the rest.
After you install the program, there is a great web-help page installed to your machine.
What I like best about this program is that take large number of pics and make one video and repeat for an other picture set. Then I take the finished movies and dump into NERO. While I don't have a menu, I know what track is what pic set. Plus, I can make DivX movies and have even more video on a disk.
There is an 30 day trail limit. After that you must buy a Product Key or ......
