  1. Hi,

I captured 2 hrs of VHS quality video to AVI format ( using huffyuv codec ).

I captured the AVI files into 5 files each of 4gb size.

Now how can i make the VCD complients mpeg1 ( step by step, because i am doing this first time ). And also how can i split this files into No of CD's.

    Video Format : AVI
    Size : 352 x 288
    FPS : 25 PAL
    Thanks,

There are lots of AVI to VCD guides under HOW TO/CONVERT.

This is more a question of "how do I join AVI before encoding?" then? If so:
Open the first AVI in VirtualDub
Add the second AVI with "Append AVI segment" (under file menu)
Keep up this 'til you have enough time for a VCD
In VirtualDubs view, this is now one AVI (and can be save out as such, if that's your wish).
Frameserve from VirtualDub to your encoder.

All AVIs must have the same encoding, resolution etc.

  5. thanks mats..

Tell me which is the best way to encode.

I mean append all the AVI file into one single file then
    encode in tmpgenc

    OR
Append the AVI file and frameserve to tmpgenc directly.

If i append all the AVI files and then choose the option of Save as AVI file, will loose the quality.
    Thanks,

I'd frame serve. To save them out as one huge (20 GB!) AVI sounds like a waste of (temporary) HDD space and time. To boot, you can resize, add logos, subtitles,... before letting TMPGEnc take care of it. Encode to 2 VCD's by setting the source range in Virtual Dub and make 1 mpeg for each VCD.

  7. Hi mat,

when i try to frameserve from the virtual dub to tmpgenc i am getting the error say can't open.

I tried the changed the VDR extension to AVI still the it shows the same error.

    where i'm wrong when frameserving.
    Thanks,
    Mursand
