  3. thanks but i tried it and it didnt work. it would bring up an error when i did save avi as and the error went by so fast that i couldnt read what it said

  4. anyone else know of any way? it doesnt have to be a direct conversion, i can convert it to something and then to divx or however as long as it becomes a divx

    Umair, I suggest that if you want peoples'assistance, you will not be so rude to them. You can take a screenshot of the screen at the exact moment in which the error message pops up on the screen by pressing the "Print Screen" button. Most likely, you do not have certain codecs needed for VirtualDub to open the video file. I, myself do not know how to correct the error message "MPEG Pack: Synchronization Error". To open MPEG-2 files, you need either the MPEG-2 modified version of VD or the MainConcept DV Demo Codec. That's all the help I can give you at this time.
