Standalone clock jumps

I backed up a DVD using DVD2DVD2, and no re-encoding was required. It looks fine when I play it in my Sony DVP-NS700P, but the clock on the front of the unit jumps around.

Any ideas?

a little more info.. Using Pioneer 104, and it skipped on the Pioneer DVD-RW disk as well as others.. movie cOyote uGly
