SONY DRU500AX I got a lemon

I wait al most two month's for this burner. And it can not burn crap. I put the DRU on slave and master no luck I tried NERO and Record Now no luck. I was burning K Hypermedia on my AO4 no problem the DRU can not even burn oneof these DVD-R. Aksi the drive can not tell if the DVD-R is 1X or 2X it burn's ever thing at two so you have to set it your self. I'm going to get AO5 or might wait until the AO6

Have you contacted Sony tech support? Sending it back to the factory?

I hate sony I called them and the say you have to use our software. I did use there software then they said you can not use any other software on your PC or the DRU500AX will not work right. Alot of DRu500AX can not burn Memorex DVD-R or Khypermedia DVD-R some people can some can not check out this site

Also the Cd that come's with the DRU500AX suck's it can mess up your PC I installed the software in the D drive and when I rebooted the PC it took up all the space on the C drive I had 1.5gig left on C drive and I could not find out what was taking up all the space thiught there might be a hidden file nothing some time's that cd install the software some time's not

Sony's bundled software is the most obnoxious and Fascist software that I have ever used. I love the 500 AX as a writer but the software has caused me horrendous problems to my computer.
