    Once upon a time,

There was a very happy little Mac freak, who loved to back up his movie collection.

Well, 1 day, as he was makin DivX with 42, a green line showed up, and just clung to the top of the film. Well the happy Mac freak was angry. So he decided to consult the Mac Video Forum for answers.

If any of you have the heart to help this happy Mac freak, please post a happy ending for him.

    Lets start this constuctively.

    What movie, and what format?

What Mac - OS and hardware?

Which version of 42 - clean install or update?

Which DiVX type selected, basic or "tweaked" settings?

Has this happened before on other runs with 42, is the green line just a pixel or two or a big thick line?

Without any of this, the developers are not going to be able to even start looking at what may have happened. Lets give them not only the chance, but the tools and correct information to have a chance.

  3. Easy answer:

Use an older mencoder, say, the one from 1.0 or 1.02.

    No green/yellow lines.

about 2x -4x slower. So there ya' go
