  1. Ok, ive created a large project. This is the information on my project:

    0001: Project name: nzhousebackup

    0002: Project folder: D:\NZHOUSEREELDVD\NZHOUSEREEL29-01-03

    0003: Total menu pages: 31

    0004: Total titles: 91

    0005: PAL (25.0 fps)

0006: Do not convert compliant file, non-compliant file will be converted to follow project template

0007: Accept Mpeg audio for NTSC DVD

    0008: 1-2-1 anti-flickering filter applied

0009: Do not create DVD folder

0010: Do not create disc image file

    and the size...

0001: Total project size: 4222786512 bytes

Now, when I go to burn my project, WITHOUT menus it burns fine.

BUT when I make it with my menus, it crashes upon step 2 , and in the log file I see this...

0001: *[DVD:FAIL] Can not Reuse VOB folder

I've tried deleting the temp folders in my project directory, but no go.

I've updated all the patches, no go.

This is a project im working on for a company, and im weeks behind.

    My computer is :

    Windows XP Home SP1
    512MB DDR RAM
    2.0 GHZ P4
    50 GIG HDD Free

    Drives:
    Pioneer DVD-R/RW
    RICOH DVD+RW

I check out the VOB file it creates (sometimes it gets that far), and the menus just race through one after the other and then it crashes.

    Any ideas?

Oh, on an interesting note, it doesnt finish the log file. It cuts dead near the end when checking one of the last mpegs.

    0141: Check video title[88]: D:\Rachel Davies Archive\Vodafone_no_plans_taxi.mpg

    0142: CVTTYPE= NO Convert needed, use original file = D:\Rachel Davies Archive\Vodafone_no_plans_taxi.mpg

    0143: Check video title[89]: D:\Ra

^^^^^^^^^ that is the 2nd to last mpeg.

Have you tried authoring to an image file and using the DVD WS burn utility to burn it separately, or authoring to VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders and using another burning app to burn? Worth a shot if not.

Does DVD WS have a max for the number of menu pages? Download and check the manual.

  3. Yeah tried all that, the problem is it crashes before finalizing the VOB structure.

Its incredably difficult to troubleshoot because it crashes in seemingly different places.

Sometimes while creating the still menus.

Sometimes at 100% of finalizing VOB.

Im thinking there must be some issue with the amount of menus im creating, BUT ive succesfully created a DVD with approximately 10~ menus before.

The massive issue im dealing with here is that this is a PROFESSIONAL project im working on, so I cannot make any comprimises.

If Ulead DVD workshop cannot handle 31 menus, for $275 USD, it is a very poor product indeed.

The manual is actually pretty useless, same with their website, in terms of information.

The interesting thing is that if I try and create just the menus with 1 mpeg file, it seems to think the DVD will be 1.3 GIG. (It also crashes).

How on earth could 31 menu images equate to 1.3 gig? Thats 41 meg per menu.

This is what one of my standard menus looks like.

Also if i try and preview my work on the Final step, the first menu pops up after the first play mpeg, but it appears as if none of the links work (ie, they dont highlight, pressing any buttons doesnt work, etc), but they ARE linked properly.

Perhaps DVD workshop cannot handle more than 10 menus, or menus over a certain size?

Hmmm. Check the DVD WS forum at Creative Cow, they have people there who seem to know the program inside and out.

    Good luck
