    Hi

    Have bought some DVD region 1 films and they play fine on my Dansai player (had to change to multi region) but they won't play on my PS2 - get message saying this region cannot be played.

    Does anyone know can PS2 play Region 1 dvd's and if it can how do you change the region?

    Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    you either need to get a modchip that will make your ps2 region free or buy a region free swap disc.. you can order them from gamegizmo.com or find them on ebay.. they go by "dvd X region" "dvd region free".. your television will have to support the television system of the dvd you're trying to play though.. it doesnt adapt.

    Got a mod chip in there but obviosly not a region free one so will have to try a region free swap disk.

    I have an action replay v2 that will make the ps2 play all regions but you will need a full scart plug for your ps2 (i think ) and your tv would have to be ntsc compatible
