i made svcd with VBR off from xmen movie.
took a long time to finish the process, but there was no file in the "burn whats in this folder" folder. what went wrong? i usually ask to put the files in a folder with the name of the movie in the desktop. in this case i made a folder named XMEN.
Inside the XMEN folder was left a 1.28 gb XMEN.mpg file.... so in order not to lose my time i did as follows... Used gumby for splitting the file in 2 files and made .bin/cue with same program and then burned them with missing media burner... is this a valid option too?

Ok, i don't know which is the best program to split .mpg that i get after "nothing happening" with the "burnwhatsinthisfolder", i just used gumby beta cause it says that it can do the job. so i split file in 2 files, then used gumby again to turn the files into .bin/cue and then burn them with missing media burner, cause i heard toast is not so good for this.
to burn in MMB u must select the .cue file and burn, when the process is done u can get rid of the file, not before.
What can i say, it worked for me, but i still have one problem (sometimes gets a little freezing frames but no so often, maybe my dvd player have some dirt?), and i believe it happens cause i burned them in 16x, maybe is better to burn them in 2x or 4x... i don't know, but give it a try!

    Hello old friend.
Your speed on the burn will not affect your preformance, at least with what I can tell. I had a similar problem (would burn with 24x and the movie would freeze a bit, then went to 2x and it still happened.)
Turned out to be my player. I got a new one. Apex 5131 highly recommend, never had any problems.

As for your mpeg, thats ok to do that. You have done essentially what 42 should have done for you. Not sure why it didnt work. Try the 1.5.1 update? I do know people have been upset with XMEN as a DVD when using 42 so it could be that. Some people cant even get XMEN to work at all !

For the .bin/.cue creation I would not use gumby. Try vcdtoolsX Much better for .bin/.cue creation. Missing Media Tools will also cut a .mpeg if you think gumby could be causing the problems

    Hope this helps.

Had this same problem with 1.5.1

Nothing in the "burn in here" folder. haven't tried the Gumby option yet with the mpg - not quite sure I trust it yet - but I'll have to give it a shot later today and see what happens.

    Hey galactica how you doing?
Thanks my friend for your tips, i'll give it a try, but for now it's out of my hands to afford a new dvd player, so i'll have to keep on trying.
Anyway, i'm using 42 ver 1.5.1 just updated yesterday!

always a pleasure to receive helpful tips!
