Problem with my cd writer

I am trying to burn a 73Xmb svcd image onto a 800mb cd-r. But the cd writer cannot detect correctly the size of the cd-r. Whatever cd-r I put into the drive, it always display 702mb free space. What is wrong? Can anyone help?

I think you'll get more of a response if you post some additional information about your config --- like, what brand/model cd writer are you using, etc.

Do you know for a fact that your drive support 800MB CDR blanks??

I am using Matsushita 8/4/32 cd writer. I burnt just a week ago an image file which is almost 800mb and it was ok. But today when I tried to burn again this problem appeared.
