  1. Hi there!

First, I have to thank you all: if I've learned something on making VCD and SVCD is only because of this beautiful site.

Then, go to see my problem: as from the subject I have a/v synch troubles: I've read many other posts about a/v synch problems but I think mine is different a bit. I downloaded a film in divx format, then I cut it into three parts with VirtualDub and then I converted the 3 parts into SVCD (PAL 25,000 fps standard) with TMPEnc 2.5.0. The first and the third CD were ok, but the last part (about 10 minutes) of the second CD had a bad a/v sync problem. Why? The converting process for all the three CD is the same. This happened also with other movies, but no all movies I did. Infact, some other films work perfectly. Is a divx-fps problem or what? please help me.

    Thank you all
    Tronky

Could it be some bad frames in the middle of the AVI? Check (and remove) with VDub (see guides here at VCDHelp!).

It reminds me old joke - lady calls MS and asks if she's doing something wrong on her PC, .... it has Win95 and NEVER crashed in 6 months....

Ok, I've seen many posts on sync problem and I never had one myself as of yet....

I do make PAL and NTSC VCDs as I do not do the conversion. My Panasonic RV32 plays them all with no probs on a regular NTSC TV.

Why do you need to use VDub?
As for myself, I get by using just TMPGEnc and VCDEasy.
I convert AVIs to MPG first using TMPGEnc, then cut them if need be with the same proggy and then burn the pieces with VCDEasy.
    Works for me.....

Yes, TMPGEnc is not bad at cutting up the mpegs it has produced itself, But don't try to cut an mpeg that some other encoder has produced!
However, if the sync problem is related to a bad frame or two in the AVI, this wont help much...
