  1. Forgive me for my stupid questions, I am totally new to DVD converting and authoring.

In some tutorial, they mentioned that it is best to convert avi (from DV) to video only and then use the audio extrac software to get the dolby digital audio file. But seems there is no detailed tutorial. Here are my questions:

    1. If I create mpeg2 file with audio and use spruceup to author/burn, which kind of audio format will be on my DVD? PCM or mpeg2?

    2. Which kind is better for DVD player, mpeg2 or Dolby digital?

    3. If dolby digital is better, is there any tutorial on how to compress Dolby digital audio file from avi?

    3. Will DVDit PE version accept both audio and video file and will synchronize the A/V?

    4. Do I need to split/merge avi file before conversion or I can do it after conversion even if I extract A/V seperately?

    Thanks for answer.
