I have several .swf (macromedia flash) files that I would love to put on a VCD.
Trouble is, I don't know any way to get them into an MPEG.
Anyone know of a way to do this?

  3. Ok I just came across a bunch of flash files I want to put on DVD. I know that my first mission is to get the swf files converted to avi. So I loaded them up in Macromedia today, and exported them as an avi. But it didnt output any audio. I tryed almost every setting they had, like outputting to mov. but I couldnt get any audio.

Anyone have any ideas for help, is there a setting that I am missing? Or is there another piece of software that would make this alot easier.

I also tried some swf2video, and the video quality was good, but the audio was muffled. And it costs $70.

    Any ideas?

    I have Macromedia Flash 5.0

  4. Will do the same video extract with no audio but cheep. If you have the add on to load Quicktime file into Tmpge. It comes in that way. It not 100% but does load and compress. Problem is the missing audio.

  5. Yeah I can get the video no problem. But how do I get the audio. I know how to load up everything in Tmpgenc after I have the video and audio streams. Its just getting the audio track that I cant figure out yet?

    Anyone know?

    Thanks

  6. Saw on this site a long time ago that someone had used Smacker to extract the audio. The problem is the audio is framed keyed. Not like a constant audio track but pop off when you hit a frame.

I have VB code that plays a SWF with audio but have not spent any time to see if I can do a "record" of both video and audio.

what about just record it in real time as you play it and sync it to video later ..

you can do this with most sound cards

true, you could record the audio with Total Recorder or AAA Real Recorder, they'll allow you to capture anything routed to the sound card.

and I think they're both available as shareware / trialware. I used them to capture some RealAudio streams and they work pretty well... just make sure your system sounds are turned off!

  9. Ok I found a decompiler and now I have the audio! Woohoo, but now the video output from Flash is giving me some trouble. But I'll figure it out as soon as I actually set aside some time.

    Thanks people for the help

Two excellent resources below for FLASH to NTSC or Flash To DVD
remember ifyou're on MAC or have QUICKTIME PRO on windows, even if you don't have a liscensced flash you can use quicktime to export to DVD ready formats

  11. 1. SWFDecompiler will let you rip a 1:1 mp3 or wav file from the actual swf movie

    2. Mario Pizzinini's swf2avi will let you
    A. export to jpg or bmp inage sequence (what i do for svcds)
    B. export to avi
3.TMPG with tooLame mp2enc to convert to svcd or dvd.

my personal best method to convert SWF to avi
