A minDVD is created just like a normal DVD but your limited to 700MB capacity of the CDR disk and very few DVD players support playback.

I have used DVD2ONE to create miniDVD. Set the ouput size to 700MB's and let it convert into a VIDEO_TS directory. Burn the CRD in UDF/ISO mode and it will play if your DVD player supports miniDVD.
MiniDVD will play in any computer,it will even play from a normal CD-ROM drive.

  5. I downloaded DVD2ONE and tried it. It doesn't show any titles for
me to process. What kind of source file does it need?

    thanks

  7. I tried doing a mini-DVD in Nero by doing it as an SVCD and ignoring the warning, but I take it that's not actually a mini DVD?

So how do I do it in Nero, if Nero doesn't give me the DVD option?

You must author as dvd and standard nero do NOT support it. You can for example use ulead movefactory to make minidvd. www.dvdrhelp.com/author#dvd

To make a minidvd from a dvd-video you can use dvd2one...but you cannot use it to make minidvds from other video sources.

Does that mean that dvd2one will only copy an existing DVD, or that it simply won't encode to the DVD MPEG2? If I have a 720x576 (PAL that is) MPEG2 file can I put that into DVD2One to create a mini-DVD?

  10. Thanks for all of the info. I used Ulead DVD Movie Factory and made a
miniDVD and my Mintek 2100 won't play it. I thought it was on the list as one that reads them. Oh well.

If anyone thinks the 2100 should work please let me know.

  11. I have a Mintek 2110 and miniDVD doesn't work
No matter it will play 720x480 MPEG-2 3000kbps video and 384kbps 44.1khz audio fine(30min play time on 80min CD).

  12. What do you use to make your 720x480 3000kbps ???
Ulead Movie Factory doesn't have that option.

    Thanks

If the source is a DVD then I use DVDx,VHS I use my ATI AIW capturing with Ulead VideoStudio 6.
I thought you could make a custom profile in MovieFactory because you can in VideoStudio.
Also...if you burn a raw MPEG to disk you lose PBC(<< >> ll >)
Read this guide to make XVCD with PBC:
