depends on the framerates. 23.97fps to 29.97fps can easily be done by enabling 3:2 pulldown. 25fps to 23.97fps involves slowing down the video to the 23.97fps framerate, but the audio then has to be slowed down/made longer to compensate. 25fps to 29.97fps involves slowing the movie down to 23.97fps, then enabling 3:2 pulldown. that's the way i would do it. i know there are some utilities out there that will do it on the fly for you if your source movie is MPEG-2.

  2. I am doing it vice versa. That is changing from 23,97 to 25 fps. I use virtual dub for that. I followed 'willem's' instructions found in the following article :

but I still get a jerky video The AVI is nice and smooth but when multiplexing it with the CoolEdit-ed wav into an PAL VCD MPEG-file with TMPGEnc the movie gets jerky. Shall I convert the AVI-video part to MPEG separetly and then the wav-sound to MPEG separetely aswell and THEN MULTIPLEX the 2 MPEGs (Video+audio) ? Any ideas ? What am I doing wrong ?

  3. Hitechjunkie - what programs/filters would I need to convert a 25fps source to 23.976fps? Theres a PAL movie I always wanted to see but can't as I live in the US. For some odd reason the local video store has the PAL DVD (and will rent you a PAL DVD player).
