  1. Whenever I try to burn a dvd with dvdxcopy it freezes. Anyone have any idea why this happens? What a watse of $100... fortunately I can reverse the charges if I have to.

  2. Please be a bit more specific.

Does it freeze during the read phase, the write phase, on the first disk, etc. Did you install the Gear drivers after the application install. What OS are you running?

  3. My dvdxcopy does not freeze but it doesn't find my dvd writer. There is nothing listed in the drive pulldown when I get to the writing step. All of my other cd/dvd writing software recognizes it. It gives me no errors, it just isn't there. Would this be anything to do with those Gear drivers mentioned in the above post?

    Thanks

  4. Well it reads the disc fine and then when you load a blank dvd-r and click on "burn disc" it does nothing and after a while you hit crtl-alt-del and it is "not responding".

    Windows XP

I was told this program is a pos.

It works great once you get it running.

Do you want to get it working or just whine and complain?

Did you load the Gear drivers?

  7. In the directory where you installed DVDXCopy you will find the DVDXCopyInstaller application.

In addition, if you are running any packet writing software like Roxio DirectCD or the stuff from Nero remove it from the system.

When you click "Burn Now" does it hang instantly or does it write to the DVD for a while and then hang?

  8. It hangs instantly.. but it doesn't burn on the disc at least so I can spare them. Why do I have to dump Nero? I like NERO!

He's not asking you to dump nero, JUST the packet writing part of NERO
you may not have installed this component of nero.
If you don't know what he's talking about..
IT means a part of the NERO Program that you can drag and dropfiles to the DVD-R like a hard drive..thats what packet wriring software does
