    please,please,please........etc ,etc
would anybody outthere please explain why all my films that i am copying to cd-rom out of sync by a fraction of a second and the picture "crumbles and freezes for a sec " when watching on my toshiba sd-125e(hacked).
I started last week doing eight legged freaks(hs).dvdrip.(1of2). (with all the latest software from dvd help), using TMPGEnc to make mpeg1 then vcd easy to burn to cd-rw 700mb but after watching for around 5 mins the screen freezes for a sec and then audio is out so i went back to the "how to "pages and encoded the audio to WAV then reassembled the video/audio with TMPGEnc and tried again..no luck.
    Am i a NUMPTY ED!!
my system WIN XP PRO 256DDR AMD 2GIG(ON A JETWAY v266b BOARD SO IT ONLY RUNS @1.5 (need new board ) 80gig hdd, 440graphics nivida

  2. Sometimes when the video screws up on a standalone DVD player, the audio continues then when the video sorts iteself out the audio is out of sync. Stopping and restarting the disc can sometimes resync the audio. To determine whether it is a problem with your DVD player playing the disc correctly or it is a problem with the disc itself, play it in your PC. Do you have problems with audio sync in your PC. If it is just a case of problems with your DVD player reading the disc correctly, try burning at a lower speed and see if that solves your problem.

thanks for the quick response to my question i have burned at 4X and 16X without any sucess. However the first copy i made of 8 legged freaks is watchable on my standalone and pc that is on cd-rw disk so i binned the original (realise now i should not have) and copied with clone cd expecting a perfect clone so i could erase and start a new topic . Do i need to use the original (which is audio out of sic) in future
That means i need to get the video/audio together correctly before i copy to cd-rw each time.

I guess you're encoding from a DL'ed AVI. Not the ultimate source for a good VCD, as you can't know a thing about the quality and integrity.
Check the AVI for bad frames (and remove them) with Virtual Dub. Guides for this at this site.
Burn the VCD at low speed - My own rule of thumb is not above half of CD-R/writers max. I usually burn at 4X, and 8 when I'm feeling brave. Opinions on this may vary.

  5. So, if I understand you correctly the movie played ok on CD-RW, but when copied to CDR you had problems. What DVD player do you own, could be that your player has problems reading CDR, but can read CD-RW ok. Have you tried playing the CDR that you have problems with in any other players. It would be a good idea to try the disc in another player to determine if it is the disc itself that is the problem, or whether it is a problem with your player.
