I actually came on the forum today with a similar problem.
I am running WinXP RC-1 2505. When i load a divx movie into tmpgenc the video will load just fine, but i have to de multiplex in vdub in order to load the audio track.. i have divx and divx4 installed.. maybe mgm if u install divx4 u can at least do what i do.. but anyone out there know why these problems are occuring? Anyone had luck with CCE in WinXP? -
CCE and TMPeg both work fine in WinXP - I've used them for months (although CCE won't open *.avs files - it crashes for me - you have to create your own manual .ecl file to get avs files to work).

Weird I'm running Win XP 2600 build Professional and Virtual Dub, FlasKMPEG, and Ulead Media Studio 6.0 Pro dont work at all... It shuts the proggie down when I try to select a codec for compression. Any ideas? help?

If this helps, I'm running Windows XP Professional [Build 2600] and VirtualDub works fine for me. I have been capturing with it for a week or so now. The only problem I noticed in VirtualDub is that the CPU Usage is reported incorrectly, or VirtualDub does not take advantage of all my system resources with Windows XP. =|

This happens with BBMPeg in WinXP also - I found that if I clicked the "Load" button in BBMPeg and let it show me a file list, then just cancelled - the rest of the buttons now work. Something similar may be true for your other programs. Try choosing a file with a different dialog box, then doing the one you want... A long shot, but worth a try.
