I know that mode 2 burning on CDR allows you to burn 800MB's onto a 700MB CDR. How does it work? Is it further compressing the stream or is it dropping bits to make it fit. Anybody know?

it doesnt use the crc checksum bits .. so no error correction .. so the space error correction normally uses is used by data instead .. ok for movies and such .. not for programs or critical data..
