  1. Hi there,

well quite complicated to explain but I hope you guys can help me.
I have been using TMPGenc latest version to re-encode MPEG2 file captured live with a PC satellite card that works like a PVR. Everything worked fine, I would get my captured bit and open it in TMPGenc which would reencode it in either a DVD or SVCD compliant file.

A few days ago though, it stopped working, it will suddenly stopped opening any MPEG2 file captured with my PC satellite card with the message "cannot open or unsupported". I was surprised at first, worked around the Vfapi settings but all to no avail. Tried installing and then reinstalling, but all with no results.

The only thing that I have done different was that of using Norton Utilities to do a check up on my OS which I always do. The funny thing is that before using Norton Utilities I had 15 days left with TMPGenc, after it sent me back to 30 days like new.

Any ideas of what is going on….

TMPGenc doesn't come with MPEG-2 support. Make sure your codecs are still working. Try playing a MPEG-2 file in media player. Or just re-install an MPEG2 player, like WinDVD/PowerDVD.
