Two options are presented on the final burn menu, one to burn immediately, the other to test without burning. However, the test option is grayed out and I cannot find anyway to activate or select it. Is the test button active on anyone else's installation of Vegas Video +DVD Architect? Thanks!
Closing update. The button is now active after applying the fix for a different bug issued by Sonic Foundry on 2/20/03. See

I played around with this program a little last night. I was able to burn a DVD and worked great. The same thing happened to me but i can't remember what i did to get it ungrayed. I am at work right now, when i get home i will take another look and respond back. Unless, someone else answers your question in the meantime.
