I recently purchased the Canopus ADVC-100 and it is as good as everybody says it is. When I capture to my IDE hard drive I get no frame loss but when I capture to my Firewire hard drive I get massive amounts of frame loss. I would prefer to capture to my firewire only because it's a 120 gig while my other is a 20gig. When I capture I close everything on my systems tray and programs running in the background. Any ideas on how to stop the frame loss? Here are my specs:
P3 800mhz
40 gig HD
ADS external case & firewire card using 120 gig HD
ADVC-100
256mb ram
Windows XP
