i have altered my enviromental settings in tmpgenc to accomadate encoding xvid's and now when i am trying to encode divx, the resulting audio skips like a record player do i need to put them back to default cause that will be a major pain every time i want to encode something.
please help

Yes you do. If you read the instructions it does say alter the Environmental settings and then change them after the encode. Why not save the appropriate settings you use as an XVID project file? that way you dont need to do that much!!
