I am starting to order my hardware for a HTPC and was wondering do I need just a separate DVD Writer and use it for playback of store bought DVD's or will I need to get 2 separate pieces of hardware? A DVD+R/RW for recording and a DVD-Rom for playback. I will probabaly be using the playback stage about 75% of the time compared to 25% of actually recording something.
Thanks,
p.s. I am hoping to get these two pieces with black face plates.
Any suggestions? I have searched quite a bit with very little luck. Is it a common practice of painting the face plate to match the case?

one will do it
having a player and recorder saves wear on your recorder though
