convert 4 movie factory

Im having problems with ulead movie factory 1,some mpeg file u can import but not all.
What can i use to convert my files so i can import them,and what settings.Iv try tmpgenc on the dvd templete but no joy.
Any ideas for any other software or an answer to this 1 plz.
Im a newbie so share the joy plz.

I had the same problem with that program and the same files that it wouldn't open worked fine on any other program. I finally just un-installed it and bought this program which works just great and is much faster than MovieFactory.
