I have to encode some videos from MPEG2 to VCD, and on two of those when I encode them, they get to a point where TMPGEnc closes with no error message or warning, it just disappears from the screen. I've tried using different settings to encode the videos, but they still crash at the same time.

Please tell me what to do...

Did you scan and remove any bad frames first? If no, then there are guides for it.

I can't scan for bad frames in VirtualDub because the source file is MPEG2 and I don't think VDub supports MPEG2, is there aby other way to do it??

You can try Vcdgear for mpeg repair or have you tried the header trick? It means re-multiplexing the mpeg2 into an mpeg1 (with TMPGEnc) and burning it as a non-compliant VCD. Some players accept it, some don't. 8)
