  1. Hi,

I have burnt many VCD onto CD-RW and played it many times on my DVD player, and playback is perfect. However when I burn the same file in the same way to a CD-R it doesn't play. Now every user who has reported on my DVD player (JVC XV-S42) on the DVD Players page has said the unit does support both CD-R and CD-RW media, and the instruction book also says this. The CD-R plays fine on my PC.

Why can't my DVD player play the disk then. Does the DVD player not support it (I would have thought that if it can support CD-RW CD-R should be easy though). Or am I just using a crap brand of disks (I have tried both Imation and Sony disks, and I used a maxell CD-RW). Or am I burning the CD-R the wrong way (I use VCDEasy, and just add the one file to the list, no PBC, select Simulate, and click Go.

    Please help,
    Matt

You selected "Simulate" and not "Burn", or both?
    Hello.

  3. I think I've solved this problem. I tried burning on a third brand of CD-R media: Ridata. The VCD played fine on my DVD player. I'll make sure I stick to Ridata disks in the future!

    Thanks for your help,
    Matt
