  1. I have a Panasonic DMR-E20. I currently use Nero v5.5.10.7b. I use OPTODISK DVD-R media.

    I recall making copies of some DVD's I have recorded with the E20. I thought I simply used Nero to copy the DVD to an image, then burned the image to a blank DVD. I recently tried this and Nero said it can only read 1st track. The resulting image was 3meg.

    What am I doing wrong?

    Also, One of my DVD's created with my E20 will not play in my Sony NS-700P but works fine in my Apex AD-1200 and Pioneer 525. My Sony has never quite seemed to read all DVD's I've tried. Is the Sony a bad machine in regards to compatibilty?

    Thanks for any replies.

    T.J.

  2. Found my own answer. Downgrade to Nero 5.5.8 and I'm back to copying my own DVD's. Go figure.

    Also, I copied the DVD that would not play in my Sony and the copy plays fine. Must have been some problem with finalizing the DVD-R.

    I also have a DMR E-20, the only DVD-R's that caused problems so far are Imation; you can even see it: the Panasonic is very slow to recognise these; others like Optodisc do very well;
    on my Mac I also had to figure out how to copy DVD-R's made with the DMR E20, it is not al that obvious and largely depends on the program that one uses;
    the fact that your computer copied DVD-R plays better than the original DMR E20 made DVD-R has nothing to do with the finalisation, apparently the computer DVD writer is somewhat different and therefore compatibility of the copied DVD-r is different, most of the time better as I noticed ; have no explanation for that
