OK
This was my test of DVD2one VS Instant Copy
The winner is DVD2one
The test was done on Tina Turner Live In Amsterdam
The menu selections were AC3 or DTS and that was it
PIC was really bad, too much blockiness in the scenes where they pan across the crowd, it did keep the menu even though it was only to select DTS or AC3.
DVD2one did not have this problem, it was way, way, way better!!!
I ripped each of the streams, AC3, DTS and m2v so you could see the sizes below.
I had backed up this DVD sometime ago saving just the DTS audio and used rempeg to reduce and the result was better than PIC.
Sorry, image didn't load
Here are the file sizes
AC3 File 158,244KB
DTS File 1,244,320KB
M2V File 6,157,924KB

I agree...you should never use instant copy again...piece of crap. No need to waste your time any longer since you've discovered the winner.

i tried instant copy but failed in two instances for me which was surprising, what it could nto do, was accomplished with nero in regards to 80 min media.
as for dvd, it came back with copyright message which i thought was odd, dvd2one did not discriminate. thus far the leader is dvd2one. -
Naaa InstantCopy beats the hell out of DVD2One.It has it far outmatched in all its nice features. As for quality,i've backed up several DVDs with it and the quality was great.
I've even compared two exacte same clips from a dvd, made with both instantcopy and DVD2one.They were both about as the same as far as quality goes.If anyone tries to backup a DVD with instantcopy and get quality much worse than DVD2one.Then they must not know what they are doing. -

I really think that the only people that are gonna get anything out of IC are the anal's out there that want to keep all the menus & extras or perhaps those that want to fit lots of separate episodes. As for the rest of us i see 3 solutions.
1.DVD2one for a very fast good copy for those of us that just want the
film..
2.SVCD2DVD or DVD2DVDR for those that want that extra quality for longer encode time.
3 DVDXCOPY or BUY ANOTHER COPY for those that want the full monty with no compromise in quality.
Like i say i think IC only redeaming feature is keeping menus & extras, but once this feature is implimented in DVD2one then we will see how long IC lasts.I'm not just slagging off IC,cos i have tried it and agree that in most aspects the copy produced can be slightly better when watched side by side, but when it takes me 250 mins just for the encode & when u think you can use that time to get a better copy from CCE it just dosn't add-up for me.....I will use DVD2one for most of my back-ups & SVCD2DVD for the very long films................Spaceman
