  1. I purchased the Cendyne (105) drive at Staples last weekend. I have been using a 104 in a work machine to burn dvd-rs previously. So I backed up 3 movies with the 105 this past week and found out that they won't play on my Sony DVP-S7700. I'm using the same Ritek media (burned at 1X) and the same software (RecordNow DX 4.6) that I had used on the work machine and never have had a problem playing back on the 7700. The 105 burned dvd-rs will start to play and then break up and skip chapters and eventually result in an error that the disk cannot be played. Any suggestions? Firmware in the 105 is 1.21. Is there anything I can try to get the 105 to produce the same results as the 104 on my work machine? I have 100 of the Ritek media left that I'd like to beable to use both in the 104 and in the 105.

  2. Sounds like the 105 is making "weaker" burns than the 104. I went from a 104 to a Panasonic LF-D311, and that drive makes more solid burns than the Pioneer with the same disks. It brings me back to the early days of CD burners...

  3. I had the same exact problem with Imation 1x media, while not with TDK 2x media. I think that Pioneer needs another firmware upgrade or something?
